I love handbags. One day, I was saying to my BF, "maybe handbags are my calling. I love to look at them. I love to make them. I love wearing them...." Then my BF chimes in, "....and you TALK about them ALL the time." LOL! So, yeah, I do. It must be weird to date me. I think I talked about this pie purse for weeks. We might as well say months cause I'm still talking about it.
When I come up with an idea, I first get emotionally attached to it. Then I search the internet to see if anyone else has already come up with the idea. Most everything has been done before. Just saying. Anyway, I bought the cherry picnic fabric first. Then decided that cherry fabric like this could only be worn with a proper cherry pie purse. I came up with what I wanted my purse to look like. I searched the internet for other pie purses. Not too many out there. Most famously, Betsy Johnson, my favorite handbag designer and role model, makes a small vinyl looking pie purse. The other notable pie purse is where I stole the idea to use the pie tin. I'll give credit where it's due: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JamieBsMakery?ref=l2-shopheader-name
What a cute summer outfit, right? I love it. I wanted a simple mod style dress. Super short so people wonder if I'm wearing underwear. Awkward. I modeled the outfit with both my mud boots and my black and white thrifted heels to show different ways to wear something like this. I'm way more likely to wear this with my mud boots, but I do love the heels. I feel so 60's in a short mod dress with b/w heels!
What do you think? Let me know if you're interested in this look. I'll do a more in-depth tutorial OR i'll make more and sell them in my shop. I love this look on myself, but I bet a little girl would go gaga for this outfit! Hmm... maybe I have an idea there.
