So, would you believe me if I said this was my boyfriends idea? He is a hoarder. He wants to keep everything! So, when I was about to recycle these empty tape rolls, he was like, "you can't make something out of those?" Um...."do I have to?" FINE! *POOF* They are bracelets. Friggin' cool bracelets.
-Empty cardboard tape rolls
-Razor blade/ Exacto knife
Start with a thick, white satin ribbon and glue it to the roll. The white ribbon makes a nice base so you can't see the cardboard underneath. Let that dry. Add your next layer of ribbon on top. My ribbon was slightly too wide, so I let it dry completely, then used a blade to cut off the excess. I finished the edges using the Sealing Ribbon Edges technique from my Tips N' Tricks page. I painted just the edges of the roll because, well, they looked unfinished. Then Mod Podged over the paint to seal it.
My life's passion is making cool things outta crap. This project was so very ME! Thanks for checking it out!
Until next time,
Hey! You'll love these too!
