It's fifth season, or mud season, in Vermont. The weather here can change in a matter of minutes, so layers are a must. If you visit New England, wear boots, a hat, a jacket, and bring an umbrella. You never know what weather you will encounter.
I adore boots with skirts. Very New England casual.... I made that up. I made this skirt too! I found the fabric at Jo-Anns. An elastic waistband makes it super comfy. I cut the desired length of fabric, hemmed the bottom, sewed up the side, and added the elastic waistband. I thrifted the LL Bean boots for $15 and the Ann Taylor jacket for less than $10! I made the wood slice necklace- Saw a slice off a branch, drill a hole, and add chain! I found the backpack at TJ Maxx for $20. The whole outfit together says, "I'm country casual." LOL! Again with making things up....
Oh! My socks! It's still pretty chilly here. If leggings looked cute under this skirt I would wear them, but they don't. So, I cut the toe section off of my socks and pulled them up extra high for a little more leg warmth. I wore other socks to keep my feet warm of course. Or I guess you could just wear a really long pair of socks. Duh. LOL!

I suggest DIYing or thrifting of course, but here's some inspiration and where you can get it if you're rich and lazy. I LOVE the wood slice necklace from The Chestnut Forge on Etsy! I need to make a miss-shapen necklace like that!
Hey! You'll love these too!
