As I've mentioned before, my BF has "hoarder" in his blood. I guess we both have a little bit. We come by it honestly. Our mothers are cray-cray. Blame them.
My BF has had this vintage gumball machine for years. It does have the original glass globe, but not the red tippy top piece. We used to use it, with the original globe, as a candy jar in our kitchen, but it was a little wobbly without all the correct pieces. I had put the whole thing away in storage for the past year cause it was just taking up space on the counter. A sweets jar is not a good idea anyway. I have no restraint. Chocolate at 6am? Yes, please. No. Freaking. Restraint.
Spring cleaning brings your old crap to the surface, huh? Like, "Geez, I wondered where that had gone." I "found" this clear glass pumpkin jar at the back of another cabinet and thought, "it's an ugly pumpkin, but I think I can make it work." I decided to glue the jar onto the gumball machine so the pumpkin face faced backwards. I figured once I put stuff inside the jar, no one would see the pumpkin face anyway.
I used hot glue and E6000 to attach the jar to the gumball machine base. I used both because I wanted it extra secure. E6000 takes longer to dry, but it holds like a bast*rd. I dotted the E6000 glue around the gumball machine. Then I filled in between with hot glue for the instant bond.
No need for any expensive makeup organizers here. Check it out! A gumball machine, a recipe holder, a perfume box, and...... I don't know what it's called. On holidays my mother would put a cheese ball in it?!?! What is it called?!?! Comment below if you know what that is. A cheese ball dome?
Here I have it set up with a few of my other projects (links below). How easy is the dollar store wine glass with sponges?!
I love how this came out! Unique makeup storage that I've never seen anywhere else. I'm just gonna pat myself on the back now.... pat, pat.
Turned out decent, jah? Leave me a comment below and tell me what YOU would have filled the gumball machine with! I'd love to know!
Thank you so much for checking out my site!
Hey! You'll love these too!
